This page shows photo's of the tranny, engine and some of the wiring in the rear and mid section of the car.

Original Transaxle >>>>>

It looked to be in the same shape as everything else under the car. I pulled it out and had it overhauled.

<<<<< Rebuilt and ready to go

After the overhaul, I filled it up and dropped it back in with new bushings and mounts. I also added a braces to help prevent twisting.

A good look at the motor just before removal >>>>>

The motor was beyond shot. the bolts were rusted on the longblock so bad, a few of the studs were broke when I attempted removal.

<<<<<< A free donor car!

This would becom ethe motor for my car a few years in the near future. A friend gave me the motor if i ould take the car. I gave the tranny to another friend if he would take the car. I got a usable motor out of the deal. Not bad!

Fixed up and ready to go. >>>>>>

This is a 1641cc motor. I had a VW specialist in Houston rebuild it from the grouns up. The guy insisted on starting with all new parts. He dipped the block, the heads, and the crank. Everything else has been replaced.

Between Hurricane Rita and bailing a friend out of trouble, I almost lost the chance to get the motor finished. Connie stood beside me through some rough weeks waiting to recover from spending the money on the motor. She won't admit it, but I think she likes the car as much as I do.

<<<<< Engine bay

All of the wiring is covered in

 loom, then covered in Techflex.

This is some of the greatest stuff

ever. All of the brake lines were

also loomed to improve the overall

 look.

Wiring harness >>>>>>

All of the wiring is ran through loom, then Techflex'd. both harness' that run from the rear of the car are ran on the sides of the tunnel, anchored to the floor with theft-resistant screws.

The forward compartment.

It feels funny to call it a trunk! Here you can see the battery, hydraulics, and some of the wiring we have ran. The fuse block is out of a 80'S Oldsmobile.  Since car audio and car stereo competition is in my blood, A lot of what i do is based around car audio.  All of the wiring in the vehicle so far, including ring terminals, and the fuse block in this photo are from either Lightning Audio, or Install Edge; both parent companies to Rockford Fosgate.
